About Our Product

LOOMIA specializes in producing specialty circuits. We customize the size, shape, and functionality of our LOOMIA Electronic Layer (LEL) technology to fit your product specifications. It comes pre-connected to a LOOMIA Interconnect mounted with a connector of your choice, including, but are not limited to, USB, JST, and magnetic pogo pin.

Our LEL is: sewable, bondable, pre-cut, drapable, creasable, and washable (on specific settings with degradation). The thin form factor of our circuits has earned us a place in the Material Connexion library, giving us a certificate of material excellence.

Sewing

The LEL can be easily stitched in using a standard sewing machine with a Teflon foot. Download an example tech pack to see how simple the integration can be.

Lamination

The LEL can be laminated to your A-surface material with a household heat press.

Just peel and stick to integrate the LEL into your product

LEL Benefits and Advantages

for Designers

Form Factor

1.

LOOMIA’s LEL can be patterned to work as a soft heater, sensor, or power and data bus. It can integrate input and output components such as SMD sensors, LEDs, or vibration motors into any textile surface. The soft, flexible, and drapable form factor breaks the design limitations on control surfaces or other electronic elements.

Easy Integration to Products

2.

One of the primary challenges for wire-based systems is incorporating the electronics into textiles during the production process. Our LEL is designed to fit our client’s supply chain and production processes. We produce and deliver to our clients a fully insulated and certified panel to be sewn, bonded, or adhered to a textile surface easily and with no additional machinery. We also include a customized tech pack / assembly guide to help speed up the learning process for integrating our units into a product.

Modularity

3.

The LEL consists of 5 main components — the soft layer, the interconnect, integrated components, adaptor cable, and battery pack (or other power source). Through our modular approach, all components are individually customizable as well as replaceable by a component of our customer’s choice. This means that we can combine different technologies that work together for the best user experience.

Hard-Soft Connection Options

4.

Although the LEL is soft and flexible, it can easily and reliably connect to any hard electronic system with its customizable interconnect area. This interconnect includes hard surface components and a closed power connector to fit any use case.

Customization

5.

Our functional soft layer is also fully customizable. LOOMIA’s patented patterning method allows us to customize the functionality, size, and shape of the LEL. It also allows us to customize the position of intended functional areas and insulation method best suited for the environmental conditions of each use case. Through the versatile nature of our patterning method, we can design for small surface area (small pitch) as well as very large surface area applications with optimized energy efficiency. This gives product designers the flexibility to build a beautiful product.
