Our Company History
Loomia started in 2014 as a design and technology studio called “The Crated”. Through working with forward-thinking clients, it became clear that next-generation products, especially wearables, were limited by available materials. Wanting to solve this problem, we set out to create a soft, flexible circuit that we would have wanted to use in our own engineering and design work. Throughout this process, we focused on developing tools for making beautifully designed, yet highly functional products that would merge electronics and soft goods together.
The Loomia Electronic Layer (LEL) circuit is the result of our work. It originated at Autodesk as a conductive ink and deposition solution. Over time and through many iterations, it morphed into what it is now.
The LEL is sewable and bondable, it can easily accommodate and integrate into soft goods. It is pre-cut, so there isn’t a risk of damaging the circuit. The LEL can be used in medical, automotive, consumer apparel, outdoor wear, and for personal protective equipment. We see our technology as a new form factor of circuitry, bringing flexible, creasable electronics to a wide range of industries.
